Salmon DNA: The Future of Skin Rejuvenation?
Rejuran, a revolutionary treatment derived from salmon DNA, is transforming aesthetic medicine with its unique regenerative properties that go beyond traditional fillers. This polynucleotide-based treatment reactivates the skin's natural healing processes, offering advantages that conventional procedures simply cannot match.
• Not your typical filler - Rejuran is a regenerative agent derived from salmon sperm DNA
• Currently available in Korea, Singapore, parts of Europe, and Australia, but not yet in the US
• Stimulates fibroblast activity to boost collagen production naturally
• Encourages angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation) for improved circulation
• Provides anti-ischemic properties that help skin retain oxygen
• Offers UVB protection as an added benefit (though sunscreen is still necessary)
• Originally developed for medical wound healing with proven clinical results
• Can be applied in concentrated form for wrinkles or diluted for overall skin texture improvement
• Typically requires 3-6 treatments, spaced about four weeks apart
• Provides more comprehensive benefits than either traditional HA fillers or biostimulatory agents

Welcome to the Beauty Standard with Dr Roy Kim. Hey everyone, welcome back to the Beauty Standard. I'm Dr Roy Kim, and today we're going to explore a truly fascinating treatment that's causing a buzz in the world of aesthetics Rejurin. If you haven't heard of it yet, don't worry, you're not alone. Rejurin is not a typical filler and it's taking regenerative medicine to the next level. Today, we're going to break down what Rejurin is, how it works and why it's being hailed as a game-changer in skincare. Let's get into it. So what exactly is Rejurin? Well, rejurin is not your typical filler. Although it might look like one in a syringe, it's actually a regenerative agent primarily used in the aesthetic space to boost skin quality and promote wound healing. Now here's where it gets a little interesting. It's not available in the United States just yet, but you'll find it in countries like Korea, singapore, parts of Europe and even Australia.
Speaker 1:What sets Regurin apart from hyaluronic acid fillers and other biostimulatory agents is that it's derived from believe it or not salmon DNA. Yes, you heard me right. Regurin is made from salmon sperm DNA, which is processed into a compound called polynucleotides, pn. These PN molecules are then injected into the skin to trigger your body's natural healing processes. Pretty wild right. All right, let's dig deeper. What makes rejurin so special? Well, it's all about what it does for your skin. Unlike traditional fillers that simply add volume, rejurin is regenerative. It helps the skin repair itself by boosting fibroblast activity. Fibroblasts are the cells responsible for producing collagen, which is the backbone of youthful skin. But it doesn't stop there. Regurin also encourages angiogenesis, or the growth of new blood vessels, which improves circulation and overall skin health. On top of that, it has anti-ischemic properties, meaning it helps the skin retain oxygen, promoting better healing and regeneration.
Speaker 1:Now let's talk about the potential effects of rejurin on skin health. When we age, our skin loses its ability to heal and regenerate as effectively, which is why we start seeing wrinkles, sagging and a loss of that youthful glow. Regurin essentially reactivates these natural processes, helping to improve skin texture, elasticity and overall skin quality. But here's the interesting part Regurin actually goes beyond just collagen stimulation. It also has the ability to block UVB rays, which is an added bonus in protecting your skin from the sun's damaging effects. Now, this doesn't mean you can skip sunscreen, but it's an interesting protective benefit that sets Regeren apart from other treatments. You might be thinking wait, a second salmon DNA in my skin. Yep, that's right.
Speaker 1:It's a bit of a unique concept, but the research and studies behind Regurin are pretty compelling. This product was originally developed for wound healing in medical settings. It's been tested in human clinical trials for things like diabetic, foot ulcers, pressure sores and even skin grafts. In these studies, regurin showed significant improvements in wound healing, making it a highly effective agent for tissue regeneration. But it gets even more impressive. It's also been used topically for hair loss treatment, where it's shown promise in stimulating hair growth. So the science behind Regurin is real and it's not just about vanity. It's about helping the body heal and regenerate, which is why it's becoming so popular in aesthetic procedures. Now let's talk about how this actually works in an aesthetic setting.
Speaker 1:Regurin isn't just injected into the skin like a regular filler. There are different ways to use it, depending on what results you're looking for. If you want to target fine lines and wrinkles, the more concentrated version of Regurin just PN polynucleotide can be injected directly into the wrinkle to not only fill it but also regenerate the skin around it. For broader skin texture improvement, a more dilute form of Regeran is injected superficially across the face using a specialized gun that delivers tiny, precise injections just beneath the skin surface. Typically, doctors will recommend a series of treatments, about one every four weeks, with a total of three to six treatments, depending on your needs and skin condition.
Speaker 1:You might be thinking how does this compare to the other treatments I've heard of? Well, let's compare it to hyaluronic acid fillers first. While HA fillers are great for adding volume and smoothing wrinkles, they don't have regenerative properties. They don't stimulate collagen production or help your skin heal. Regerent, on the other hand, is all about regeneration, making it a more holistic approach to improving skin health. Another comparison is with other biostimulatory agents like Sculptra or Radiesse, which help stimulate collagen production. While these compounds can indeed boost collagen, they don't have the wound healing, angiogenesis and UV protection benefits that Regeran offers.
Speaker 1:Regeran truly stands out for its ability to regenerate skin and heal tissue in a way that other products can't. So, to wrap up, ridurin is more than just a filler. It's a regenerative agent that can improve skin quality, texture and elasticity, while also promoting healing and protecting the skin from UV damage. It's an exciting new option for those looking to improve their skin's appearance and overall health in a natural, biologically regenerative way. As of now, it's not yet available in the US, but its success in other countries like Korea and Singapore has certainly made waves in the world of aesthetics. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Regurin evolves and whether it will eventually be FDA approved for use here.
